WHAT GROUND CONTROL IS
Ground Control is a companion app and daemon that let you monitor, message, and authorize AI coding agent sessions running on your own computer, from your own phone. It is provided by Carlos Lastres ("we", "us").
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- You may only connect Ground Control to computers and agent sessions you own or are authorized to control.
- You are responsible for what your agents do. Ground Control transmits your instructions; it does not review them.
- Keep your pairing QR code and key private. Anyone who scans your QR code can see your sessions, command them, and if you have turned on approvals, authorize actions on your machine.
PERMISSION APPROVALS
- Approving a permission request from your phone authorizes that action on your Mac exactly as if you had approved it in the terminal. You are responsible for approvals you send, including ones sent in a hurry or without reading the full request.
- The feature is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time with
groundcontrol approvals off. - We do not review, filter, or judge what an agent is asking to do. Ground Control shows you the request and carries your answer back.
THE SERVICE
- The relay service forwards end to end encrypted traffic between your devices. We cannot read it and we do not store it. We keep only anonymous counts of how many devices are connected, as described in the privacy policy.
- The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, during the beta period and after.
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. Because your data lives on your devices, discontinuation does not delete anything of yours.
ACCEPTABLE USE
Do not use the relay to transmit unlawful content, to interfere with the service, or to attempt to access channels that are not yours. Channels are protected by encryption keys generated on their owners' machines.
LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of Ground Control, including actions taken by AI agents you command through it and actions you authorize through remote approvals.
CHANGES
We may update these terms; the current version always lives at this address. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
